Hawaii Lahaina Wildfire

  85% of the Lahaina Wildfire has been put out. 2,170 acres of land were burned, and 2,200 houses were destroyed, including numerous historic structures in the town of Lahaina. The fire is now the worst wildfire in modern U.S. history with 93 fatalities, according to the death toll. Firefighting teams are battling the 60% contained Upcountry Maui fire in addition to putting out flare-ups in the Lahaina fire. On Saturday, it was announced that the Pulehu Fire, which is farther east in Kihei, was 100% contained but still burning. The fire's origin is still being looked into. However, authorities think that a downed power line in windy, dry conditions caused the fire. Life on Maui has been significantly disrupted by the Lahaina Wildfire.   The first time Russia has fired on commercial ships outside of Ukraine since leaving a historic UN-mediated grain deal last month was on Sunday when a Russian destroyer fired warning shots at a cargo ship in the southwest Black Sea as it headed north. Russia stopped taking part in the grain agreement for the Black Sea in July, preventing Ukraine from using the Black Sea to export its agricultural goods. All ships, according to Moscow, are potentially armed and sailing toward Ukrainian territorial waters. In a statement released on Sunday, Russia claimed that its Vasily Bykov patrol ship had opened fire with automatic weapons on the Sukru Okan ship, which was flying the flag of Palau, after the captain of the latter failed to stop the ship for an inspection. The ship, according to Russia, was sailing in the direction of the Ukrainian port of Izmail.
