This month will have one of the year's best meteor showers.

The Perseid meteor shower, which occurs every year between July 17 and August 24, is one of the year's finest celestial displays. The Earth will travel through the densest portion of Comet 109/Swift-Tuttle's tail on the night of August 13, which is when the meteor shower is expected to peak this year. The Perseids meteor shower's peak will occur when? The apex of the shower will happen this year on August 13 when the Moon will be a dull declining crescent and only around 7 percent lit, making for excellent astronomy conditions. The meteor shower is frequently at its peak in the early hours before sunrise for skywatchers in the Northern Hemisphere. Image by Oscar Portan  from Pixabay
